Back then they were able to use bullock-carts and boats as means of transportation. Which today, the bullock-driven carts were still used by the South Asian people until today.
They were also trading with the use of the boats and bullock carts. Though most of the boats were small, flat-bottomed craft, driven through sailing, similar to those you can see on the Indus River nowadays.
